Bill has specialised in providing practical business, financial and taxation advice to businesses, families and individuals. Since January 2024, Bill has moved into a consultancy role with Sanders Accountants as part of his transition into retirement.

Bill is a very experienced accountant, having been accepted as an Associate of the Australian Society of Accountants (now CPA Australia) in 1971. Bill subsequently commenced his own Public Practice in 1976, operating as a sole practitioner until February 2007 when the Sanders Accountants partnership was formed.

In addition to his broad accountancy skills, Bill has a wealth of experience in virtually all aspects of business and personal finance matters. Bill has had direct personal exposure to most types of retail, industrial and rural businesses, as well as clients' personal financial needs, over a long and highly successful career with the Commonwealth Bank. Bill was one of the youngest branch managers appointed by the Bank to that time, and soon rose to become the youngest Assistant State Manager that the Commonwealth Development Bank ever appointed. In this role, Bill managed a large number of specialist rural officers, industrial accountants and rural and business loan staff.

Bill is a Fellow of CPA Australia, having held a Certificate of Public Practice since 1976. He is a Registered Tax Agent, a Registered SMSF Auditor and a Senior Associate of the Finance Securities and Investment Association of Australia.

Born in Ardrossan, Bill was educated at the local Area School before completing his education at Burnside Primary, Pulteney Grammar School and the Institute of Technology (now UniSA). Bill is a keen sportsman having played tennis, cricket, football, volleyball and golf, whilst also administering many of the clubs at which he played. He was a long-term coordinator of the local Auskick Centre at Linden Park School and the Sanders family is honoured and delighted that the School named its main oval 'Sanders Oval' in recognition of their involvement with the School for over 40 years.

Bill is married to Helen and they have seven children and nineteen grandchildren.
